7. Archive Committee
Yuzz Kanda was reappointed to continue to head the Archive Committee. He reported
that the management of the Berrick Hall has granted the Alumni Association a section of Berrickユs Study Room on the second floor of the Berrick Hall for the SJC/SJIS archives together with the Berrick family history. He also reported that our third annual SJC Festa is scheduled to be held from Nov. 21st (Sat) to 23rd (Mon). At the Berrick Hall, the committee is already working on these two projects and a total budget of 1 million yen was allocated for the purpose as it is becoming more difficult to get advertisers for the brochures. Joji Ozawa stressed that the Committee should spend the money wisely. It was mentioned by the Treasurer that our first Festa expense was 1.2 million and the second 0.6 million yen.

8. Fund Raising
SJC emblem was produced and will be sold for 2,000. This includes the selling price of 1,500 plus a donation of 500. Also, decision to sell a cardigan with the emblem for 10,000 was agreed but this pricing is currently under consideration as the Alumni was able to produce cheaper emblems from overseas supplier.

9. Annual Memorial Mass will be held on Sept. 23, 2009 at Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Jean Rigod ended up the meeting thanking everyone for all the help the Association got from its members and volunteers for having a successful year of 2008 with all the special events of the annual Memorial Mass, The Festa with the large attendance at the presentations on Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 15th and 16th) and the wonderful attendance at the great party at YCAC. This was all made possible by the people involved in the preparations of each event, having the real SJC and SJIS school spirit to make each event a success. Jean urged us all continue and make this an even better association with the spirit of moving forward with faith and fortitude. He thanked Father Mueller, our former principal, Bro. James Masuura for assisting in investigating the Marianist archives and also the SJC US Chapter president, Mr. George DeCouto donating gifts. Jean said he appreciated the officers for helping him out the past year and ended his talk by "Thank you very much and may the Blessed Virgin give you all her special blessings".

The meeting adjourned at 7 pm.
