Motoji Fukuyama, Class of 1981, passed away suddenly on April 16th, 2010 in
Hong Kong. Age 46. Brother of Seiichi Fukuyama, Class of 1979. He is survived
by his wife Akiko (St. Maur, Class of 1983) and two children, his daughter, Raisha
and his son, Joi.
Motoji, or Moty as his friends call him, came to St. Joseph College in the 6th
Grade in 1974. A warm hearted person, he would always be found smiling. A person
that would never say no to a friend. His schoolmates always counted on Motoji,
and he was always there for them.
Motoji showed talent for music, playing the bass for several bands during his
high school years.
After St. Joseph's, he graduates from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan and finds
a career in the financial world. Joined Johnson Associates Inc. in the U.S. in
1989. He transfers to Hong Kong as an Asian equities broker. Transferred to the
Pacific Regional Group in 1995. At time of his passing, he was the regional investment
manager with the Pacific Regional Group of Jardine Fleming Asset Management (J.P.Morgan)
in Hong Kong.
