Dear Fellow Alumni and Friends,

New Year Greetings to you all from the Officers of the SJIS Alumni Association!
As we welcomed the year 2003, the Association looks forward to a constructive year to edify the organization with new blood and more efficient communication network.
Contribution from each and every one of you is absolutely necessary to make it happen.

During the past year, the Association was blessed with inputs and active participation of the graduates of the 90' s. The new breeze pumped up the spirit and energized the activities.
To further strengthen our force, we request the graduates of the 70' s and 80' s to take the active role in the Association.

We are now faced with tasks needing involvement of many.
There is a proposed SJIS Historical Archive Project to store the rich history of our alma mater electronically and if feasible in printed form. As one can imagine, the project is of a huge magnitude requiring strong commitment of time and money.
This has gained approval of the U.S.A. Chapter, however the Association in Japan is requested to take the initiative and to assume the main role.
The Association approved in 2002 to support the ministry of Bro. Enrique Zabala in Guatemala. We have pledged US$2,000 for 2002. We have to decide our support for 2003.

To discuss and decide on the above and other important matters including the election of the new officers we will hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 1, 2003 (Sat) at YC&AC, details of which will be announced soon.
We ask for your presence on the first of March to voice your opinion and to pledge your support.

Lastly, on behalf of the Officers of the SJIS Alumni Association, I pray for God' s rich blessings to be upon you and yours throughout 2003. I look forward to see you at the AGM!!

Faithfully Yours,
Henry Akashi
